California’s Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly announced on September 22 during a video conference update on COVID-19 that the state has relaxed restrictions on nail salons and physician-ordered electrolysis to be open indoors with modifications regardless of the tier and that counties will be able to make their own decisions on whether these industries can reopen and when.
“The re-opening of nail salons is consistent with ensuring a safe environment for business patrons, owners and employees,” said Chair of the Yolo County Board of Supervisors Gary Sandy.
